Hemant grew up in the pink city of Jaipur, where he completed his degree in Electrical engineering. He worked as a design Engineer before he got bored with technical details and decided to pursue MBA at XLRI, Jamshedpur. An advanced Marketing Management course from Columbia University, US, taught him that modern marketing has no rules.

Hemant has more than thirty years of experience in the field of sales and marketing in the fast moving consumer goods segment. During this period, he has worked as a Strategic Business Unit head, Profit Centre head and as a change manager with various Indian organizations.

Hemant has been involved in the marketing of successful brands like Thums Up, Limca, Goldspot, Maaza Mango, Captain Cook Salt, Charak products, Bajaj Almond Drop Hair Oil, Tiger Balm ,Zandu and JetKing-and many others.

Hemant has been a Visiting Faculty member of the S.P. Jain Institute of Management and the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, where he has been teaching Marketing subjects.

Hemant loves to read (almost anything);follow sports (mostly cricket); travel (where ever he can afford) and write (currently writing a book on marketing).He lives in Mumbai with his wife and two daughters Saachi and Shevika.
