NEW PRODUCT
“Flawed by Design”
Every new product starts the same way: flawed, fragile, and borderline embarrassing.
The first Coke? It had cocaine in it. (Flawed and oddly popular.)
Nike’s first running shoe? Built with a waffle iron. Worked great—until it rained.
Even the Wright brothers’ first plane could barely lift a pigeon. And don’t get me started on the original iPhone—no copy-paste, no front camera, and battery life that made a goldfish look long-lasting.
I remind myself of these stories every time I launch something new. Because the goal isn’t perfection—it’s progress. The magic happens after launch, when real users wrestle with the product and show us where it shines, stumbles, or straight-up breaks.
Innovation isn’t a polished debut. It’s awkward, ugly iteration—again and again—until we can’t live without it.
New products are born flawed. But if we nurture them, improve them, and listen hard to the people using them, they grow up to be indispensable.
So yes, my new product might still be a little weird. But weird is where great things begin.
So if your new product feels like it stands for “Mostly Very Pathetic,” congratulations. You’re doing it right.
Option 2: “Why My MVP Looked Like a Science Fair Project”
I used to think a new product should launch like a rocket—flawless, powerful, showstopping.
Then I looked around.
Coke’s first version was a medicinal mishap. Nike’s debut sneaker came off a breakfast appliance. The original Google? It looked like a spreadsheet with a search bar.
Turns out, every successful product starts off a little… awkward. Like a teenager at prom.
The key isn’t perfection—it’s persistence.
Let me know if you want a more professional tone or longer version!
